  • A valid electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC) is legally required before a property is sold or transferred and must be no older than two years: confirm you'll receive a CoC after the work.
  • Check the business is registered with CIPC, is VAT-registered if applicable, and carries public liability insurance.
  • Get an itemised written quote before work begins.
