“Emilio and his Team were absolutely fantastic! We had a terrible problem with the paving at our business premises and had a few previous contractors out to fix it. Well, all they did was make it worse. I came across Genesis Paving when I was searching for a reputable paving contractor to sort out the mess. It was a big project as the paved area is large. No problem to Genesis Paving - they came in assessed the situation, gave us a thoroughly explained recommendation and a detailed breakdown of the costing and the rest is history as they say 😊 Take my advice - don't even get other quotes, you might find cheaper, but you'll definitely not find better!”

“We returned from holiday on the 4th of Jan to find that a tree had fallen over in our driveway. It damaged the boundary wall and a large section of the paving. I was so stressed about this! After sending out many emails to various companies, Genesis Paving was the first to respond. These guys went all out to help us resolve this problem. The best part is that they reconstructed the wall and fixed the paving at the same time. We were so relieved that we could just hand over this project and we didn't have to start the year by running around to find different people to fix different things. Their workmanship is top class and they are such a pleasure to deal with. Thank you guys!”

This review is for Genesis Paving in Cape Town - Emilio Montanari. After offering a very impressive sales pitch and quote, the work was not done properly. Promises to come and correct were not met and he continuously let me down by not arriving as promised. He offered many excuses to explain this and in the end his lies caught him up as the explanations contradicted his previous excuse. The job was ultimately finished properly, but not without a lot of irritating poor service. Can't recommend.
Genesis paving have done numerous paving jobs for me on 3 different sites and have always delivered past expectation. Genesis managers that was on my sites where knowledgeable and have always listened attentively to my needs and delivered
Lorenzo Montanari and his team from Genesis Paving are experts in their field. They rebuilt our driveway last year – and using an intricate design of different coloured charcoal bricks, made our driveway into a spectacular feature of it’s own. We are now the envy of the neighbours in our estate. Genesis Paving did such a fantastic job we actually commissioned them redesign our backyard as well – which they did by laying down large flagstones on top of prepared cement screed. The look was finished off with artificial turf laid in between the flagstones, giving our backyard a fresh, modern and manicured look. Professional and quick...I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. GP started the project a day late (though I kenneled by dogs to allow unrestricted access to my property), then wanted to deliver the wrong terrace bricks until I found the correct type from one of their suppliers, lost another day a designated "materials delivery day", was unable to complete on time (another day at the kennel) and left rubble lying on my pavement a week later (even though I was charged for removing it) a week later as they were doing another project nearby and "it make business sense to use one full truck as opposed to two half full ones". I will contract a professional company to redo their work and have written off the guarantee.
I agree with the the previous comment that their sales pitch is excellent, although they seem to be ***gy backing on SA paving, as this is how I was introduced to them. The salesman told me although they are part of SA paving they are a business on their own. I read reviews of SA paving and was impressed with the 25 year guarantee, which was why I went with them. To my horror it would turn out to be he worst mistake I ever made. We paid then the deposit and were promised a week timeline as my wife's birthday was coming up and I wanted it done before then. Not only was the pavers they used not the ones we were promised, but they told us that the color we wanted cant be done in the type of stone we want, although the salesman told us something totally different. . Needless to say it took longer than they promised, project manager (Neil) never on site and when he was he was very rude to my wife, so much so that I had to come home to set him straight ( no sense of customer service at all) Paving was finally done a day before my wife's birthday but still had to set and we were expecting a lot of guests to park in the driveway. Not long after, the pavers started fading and we noticed some of the pavers cracking, sand coming up between the pavers (meaning the grouting wasn't done properly) Also they used and took my spades and rake. My complaints with Emilio Montanari (CEO) started in May of 2016 and last communication from him in March 2017, but to date all the promises were just empty and I'm no closer to the matter being resolved. Since the start of the project it was a nightmare, trying to work with them was hectic, we never got schedules and the dates we got changed so many times. It was obvious they are amateurs. They couldn't grasp our payment runs and was always begging us for special payments, our managing agents really pulled out all of the stops to accommodate them. Owners complained, but Genesis Paving never even made contact with the owners, the managing agent had to follow up and chase these complaints and explain to owners as to why there was no communication from Genesis. As a sign of good faith the Body Corporate paid them- however Genesis reneged on their service delivery- suddenly everyone was off site and owners had to Hello Peter Genesis before the rubble was removed.... Again, progress reports were promised that were not delivered, the managing agent again had to follow up and chase after complaints that I had forwarded directly onto Genesis from the owners. It was a nightmare, chaotic on the best days. Professional - not a chance
A mixed review, in some cases they went over and beyond moving people's sheds for them etc., but poor communication and slow at responding to issues. 11 days ago we met with them and were promised rubble removed, quotes to be recieved and courtyard completed, then they went off the grid. Slow response to emails, rubble still taking up most of the parking ( a big issue with residents that visitors parking was unavailable for 2 weekends after they had left site), the outstanding courtyards still waiting to be done and no quote. Maybe we were foolish to make the next tranche of payment available to them as it seemed once they got the money they were gone. Its a shame as they seemed like good guys. Lessons learned, no final payment until all is complete.
Genesis Paving would not honour their guarantee on a paving repair at our HOA, and they refused to honour refunding a deposit made to use, despite our job fulfilling the conditions for refund. I would not recommend using their service. I'd suggest searching the web for reviews before using their services.
I wouldn't recommend them..Their sales techniques are really good, once they've got your money the service level drops..After two months since installation our paving and cement started cracking, oh what a hassle it was to get them out to repair that i had to get my lawyer involved..not a very nice experience..
Genesis Paving were taken on to put down a cobble edging around the lawn and extend an existing stoep. There was 1 project manager (PM), 1 foreman and 2 labourers. The PM left after 30 mins saying he had 7 other jobs he was working on. The foreman was in fact a labourer and all had limited skills in paving. The foreman left site and never returned. The labourers worked unmanaged and began digging up the lawn, which was not necessary. My wife was forced to manage the job to contain the damage. Job was estimated at 1 day but carried on for 5 days due to low morale. More damage ensued. 1) Mixed concrete on the drive, leaving a large cement patch on it 2) Used my wheelbarrow to transport and mix cement, denting it and peeling the paint off 3) Left cement powder on the lawn causing grass burn 4) Trampled plants 5) Tried to use bricks that didn't match the existing paving 6) Constantly argued that this was normal Finally they abandoned the job and left with my wheelbarrow. They never managed to get the cement patch off my drive. They didn't finish the stoep & left 500 bricks piled on my lawn and drive Concrete lumps all over the lawn and flower beds They settled for 50% payment
