Avoid Storage King at all cost We had a negative experience with Storage King. They brought far too few containers for our belongings (estimation of containers based on our supp**** inventory), and took very long to pack our belongings on collection. They then charged us a 70% increase from the original invoice (due to the additional containers) and threatened to hold out our belongings hostage unless we paid in full prior to delivery. On delivery at our new address, a number of items were broken. We have emailed them about this at the beginning of February and have not received a response to date.

THE WORST STORAGE COMPANY EVER!! I kept my belongings(furniture and clothes)at storage king.I sent them two emails stating that I am moving at the end of January and they ignored my message and just sent an email saying that I must make sure that my account is fully paid.Upon checking the ledger I noticed that there are charges of late payment and failed debit ordersI contacted their finance department and I was informed that I paid late and the debit orders bounces.I then asked them what are the payment types that are stipulated in my contract and they said that it is either a debit order or an EFT payment.Their debit orders go off on the 25th of each month and I get paid on the 28th.I would do an EFT payment and then send proof of payment to to one of the finance guys. I was shocked and appalled when I saw that I now owe these amounts and I was informed that it was because I cancelled a debit from my account.My question was to them why would they debit when I have already paid?They answered by saying that they hadn’t seen payment.I send proof of payment every month,why don’t they reconcile their accounts effectively?They mentioned that I paid late in December and then I sent them the POP again which showed that I paid on the first and the 30th of December 2025,yet there is a late payment fee for December.I am tired of going back and forth with them I just want my belongings.IlWhen I took my belongings to be stored by them I stayed at a place that had furniture so I didn’t have to have furniture or electronics at the time.Now I am without a fridge and microwave which a not a luxury but a need.I have medication that needs to be stored in a fridge but I have been forced to go without a fridge.I had to move from PTA and Leave my things behind and just move with the ones that I had at the time.Going back and forth is costly and time consuming.I hope this matter gets sorted out as I am emotionally exhausted.Why does one company have so many bad reviews?

Terrible service Utterly non existent service. Multiple emails and phone calls to no avail. Astounding that Xolani the sales rep and Wilma in accounts between the two of them are unable to respond to email or phone messages. This is the last time I will ever use this service provider.

Horrible I paid for a premium moving and storage service with Storage King, including packing and protective wrapping. Storage King inspected our home beforehand, provided a quote, and we paid in full to secure the booking. On collection day, we were told some items did not fit and we had to pay for additional storage units, despite the prior inspection. I raised concerns about the poor wrapping on the day with the supervisor, who appeared defensive rather than receptive. The full extent of the damage only became apparent later. My 65-inch TV was wrapped in a thin throw from my couch. A large bevelled mirror was wrapped in one of my curtains, ruining the curtain and breaking the mirror. Several framed artworks were poorly wrapped, resulting in significant damage. When I contacted Storage King, I was told I should have taken insurance. This was not an insurance issue. It was poor assessment and worse execution. I regret not paying closer attention to reviews before booking. The concept is good, but the service fell well below professional standards. *****ING my money after cancellation of storage and debit order (again and again) Storage King keeps on running a debit order on my account even though I've cancelled storage months ago. Thousands of rands with every 'faulty' debit order. It takes weeks to get a refund (up to a full month, or more). It's happened three times now, and yep, again - no response from them. Sick and tired of this place that possible makes hundreds of thousands of interest off other people's money. Do NOT use Storage Kind - they'll rob you blind.

Destroyed tv after using storage king Do not use this service if you don’t want your property destroyed. When asked politely to reimburse the cost of your item they will run and hide behind a clause that indemnifies them. I stored my house contents with these people for literally one month, and their movers broke my tv and clearly hid this fact. When my stuff was brought to my new home, and the contractors came to put my tv on the wall we discovered the tv is completely broken. It’s not even worth the fix that’s how bad it is. Now why would you do this?? Why would your guys so irresponsibly handle the most sensitive thing in moving and storage. I want tv reimbursed I’m not prepared to let this go. I will write to the Adjudicator if I have to. Not only did the tv have sentimental value but that you think that you can excuse yourself from liability by a useless clause. Take accountability for your actions.

WARNING: Do Not Use Storage KING! Warning: Do Not Use Storage King! I had a terrible experience with Storage King. After accessing my storage unit, I discovered that some of my items were missing, and in their place were cushions that clearly didn’t belong to me. This means that not only did someone open my unit, but they also took my belongings and replaced them with items that didn’t belong to me. This breach of security is absolutely unacceptable. I trusted them with my possessions, and instead, they allowed theft to happen under their watch. I strongly warn the public against using Storage King. They have shown a complete disregard for the safety and security of their customers’ property. Please think twice before trusting your belongings to them.
