ABOUT LISA Lisa Swart is a multi-faceted designer and artist who focuses on high-end residential, commercial and hospitality projects. Over the course of her career she has designed homes both domestically and globally. She has guided Oksijen Interiors with her philosophy of pushing the aesthetic envelope and shattering preconceived notions by combining fantasy, drama and chic design. Trained as a filmmaker, she began her profession when she intuitively designed the interior architecture of her Victorian semi in Cape Town. Before this she was based in South America where she designed and manufactured furniture and home accessories. In order to create bespoke interior spaces in Asunción she had to find innovative solutions to compensate for the lack of products and infrastructure at the time. This has equipped her with resourcefulness and determination in all areas of the design and building process. Upon her return to South Africa she designed and built her award winning restaurant, Azara, in Cape Town which was featured in Wallpaper magazine amongst other international and local publications. OKSIJEN Oksijen interior design studio was founded in 2007 with an emphasis on residential spaces which rapidly expanded to commercial design. We are based in Johannesburg and are working from flex-offices in Cape Town and Dar es Salaam. OUR EXPERTISE We believe innovation can be applied to any size project through design, construction and project management. We take projects from concept to completion but are also capable of entering a project at any stage, including the trouble shooting of an existing operation. We explore each project’s unique goals and obstacles and through collaboration with our creative teams, clients, fabricators and suppliers ensure the best solutions for each project’s specific needs.
