Excellent Over the past ten years I have used Watt’s Plumbing for a whole host of plumbing jobs, ranging from blocked drains, sorting out leaks to plumbing a new house I built. Every time I’ve used them I found them to be obliging, professional, courteous, reliable and efficient, always delivering a high quality of workmanship. Their pricing is also very fair and reasonable. As far as plumbing goes, I have every confidence in their well-trained teams and will continue to recommend them whenever anyone asks me to recommend a plumber. Paul Johnson

Excellent Watt’s Plumbing has been our preferred plumbing contractor for the Wittebomen Estate Constantia for many years, which comprises of multiple units, both modern and old Heritage Site structures, which can prove challenging to work at, something Watt’s Plumbing has handled with aplomb. They have always been available to attend to all our plumbing requirements. I can honestly recommend Watt’s Plumbing for any plumbing works needed. Johan Nel Wittebomen Estate Manager

Plumbing in South Africa should be done by a PIRB-registered plumber. Only they can issue the plumbing Certificate of Compliance the SANS standards require. Check they're on the PIRB register before you hire; it's free.

Verify on the PIRB register
Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top, in writing, before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced. Get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
Gas and boiler work is a separate, regulated trade, not general plumbing. Make sure anyone working on a gas appliance is specifically registered to do gas work, and ask to see that registration before they start.
